Real-life modeling for EFficient RESource management in Heterogeneous multi-user systems

National Science Foundation funded project

CNS Division Of Computer and Network Systems

  • Training MS Students: The project has trained six Master students so far, on topics related to the research objectives of this project. The six Master students are: Sean Lebien, Nathan Patrizi, Georgios Fragkos, Pavlos Athanasios Apostolopoulos, Marcos Torres, and Nicholas Kemp. Also, the project has trained four Ph.D. students: Nathan Patrizi, Fisayo Sangoleye, Georgios Fragkos, Nafis Irtija, who have been partially involved in the project.
  • Curriculum Development Activities: One research project related to the scope of the project is assigned to the undergraduate students of the ECE 440: Introduction to Computer Networks course (ECE, UNM) that the PI teaches in the Spring 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Also, the research challenges and the project's research findings (up to date) are incorporated in the PI’s graduate course ECE 524: Network Economics, which is taught in the Spring 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.
  • Broadening Participation Activities: A female high school student, Maggie Wang, had performed a volunteer internship in PROTON Lab, i.e., the research lab of the PI, during the Summer 2019, performing a survey study on the topic of risk-aware resource management in 5G wireless networks. Also, six female undergraduate students were engaged with the project's research activities through the Honors Project and the Senior Design Project: Isabella Maria Obermeier (Honors Project, ECE, UNM, USA), Sara Kathryn LaTouf (Honors Project, ECE, UNM, USA), Kimberly Faris (Senior Design Project), Jenilee Jao (Senior Design Project), Alexis Marie Rubin (Senior Design Project), and Daenarah Abriana Dorcas (Senior Design Project)
